Laura Sommons, Speaker
Judy Barnett, Musical Worship Leader
Laura Sommons felt the call to speak to women some 30 years ago in her college speech class where she attended Clark Summit University. She is the youngest of four siblings where she grew up as a “PK”. Laura has a powerful testimony of what it means to be made in God’s image and battling the lies that the deceiver would have us all believe. Through the years God has allowed many different roles to be a part of her life. She is married to the love her life, Shawn for the past 34 years and they have three beautiful daughters, 3 sons, and two precious grand-daughters. She currently is on staff at Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church where she serves as the Women’s Ministry Leader. It is there that she leads in Bible studies, mentors, encourages, counsels, and most importantly loves. It is because of the love God has lavished on her that she has been able to pour that same love out on the lives of women she serves. She has been active in women’s ministry for over 20 years. In 2016 God called her to start Lavishly Loved Ministry. Based on Deuteronomy 7:9 her desire is first and foremost that women know Jesus as their personal Savior, and that His grace is greater than all our sin, and that His love for us is for a thousand generations. Lavishly Loved is what she believes God’s word says about all who have put their hope in Him. In 2018 Laura believed that the Lord was directing her to go back to school. She has finished her degree in Bible and Theology at Clarks Summit University, and graduated in May of 2023.
Judy has been leading worship for BFC women’s retreats since 2018. Retired from teaching middle school English, she still teaches classes online part-time. Judy’s passion is using both old and new melodies to bring women before the throne of grace. As a “hymn historian,” she loves sharing the stories behind the songs. Judy lives in Milford, DE and attends Hope BFC.

Is Anybody Out There Listening? How to Be a Better Listener and Why It Matters More Than Ever
Leader: Jan Morrison
Jan Morrison began her walk with Jesus as a young girl in Philadelphia. After graduating from Cairn University, she and her husband, Phil, served for fourteen years in Bible Fellowship Churches in Allentown, Catasauqua, and Stroudsburg. In 1992, they moved to Kenya with Africa Inland Mission and Phil focused on theological education, leadership development, and child safety. Jan oversaw their lively household of six children, discovered her niche in mentoring and started two pastoral care ministries with AIM. Today, they live in Lancaster County where they love their neighbors and Jan enjoys cooking, especially creating a meal from whatever is in the kitchen. Their favorite travel destinations are the five cities where their children live on the East Coast and Midwest!
